Streaming viewers were obsessed with Penn Badgley’s Netflix thriller series You, which debuted in first place in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of April 21.
Season 5, which also happens to be the final season of the series, captured 1.672 billion viewing minutes, according to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings.
The Adults 18-34 demo made up the majority of You’s audience, accounting for 37%, with 64% of that group consisting of women viewers.
Only two titles crossed the billion-viewing minutes threshold, with the other title also belonging to Netflix, which had seven titles in the Top 10, three of which had shared distribution rights.
Ransom Canyon continued to woo audiences, remaining in second place with 1.293 billion minutes viewed. This was the Netflix series’ second week in the chart, showing that romance dramas have the capability to perform well.
Max’s The Last of Us jumped two places from the previous week to finish in third place with 937 million minutes viewed. Bluey was the first of two Disney+ titles to feature in the chart, receiving 862 million viewing minutes at No. 4, followed by Grey’s Anatomy with 850 million minutes viewed across Hulu and Netflix.
The remaining five positions in the chart consisted of Netflix’s Havoc at No. 6 with 813 million minutes viewed. At No. 7 was NCIS, logging 788 million viewing minutes across Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+, followed by last week’s champ Black Mirror, which dropped to No. 8 with 734 million viewing minutes. Young Sheldon, which had 724 million minutes viewed across Max and Netflix, was the No. 9 title in the chart.
The final spot belonged to the second Disney+ title, Andor, which had 721 million viewing minutes.
