Fox’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming platform—revealed earlier this month by Fox executive chair and CEO Lachlan Murdoch—has a leader, as the company announced Pete Distad as its CEO.

Distad had previously been CEO of Venu Sports, the virtual multichannel video programming distributor that was scrapped in January by ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Before joining the short-lived Venu venture last March, Distad spent 10 years at Apple, leading business, global distribution, and operations for video, sports, and Apple TV+ after starting out helming product marketing for hardware product Apple TV.

He also spent nearly six years as senior vice president of marketing and distribution at Hulu, and he was part of that platform’s original launch team.
